Interestingly enough there is a Hermit card in tarot. It's meant to be a very strong spiritual card- however, in a recent reading I performed it couldn't have been meant more literally for this one Questioner. This friend is actually a Hermit and drew it as her Present card, something she's exhibiting right now. (I think these cards know I'm new to this so they are helping me along.)
Just like the little crustacean that lives on a beach in its' shell, she loves to live at work and takes it every where she goes. The cards blaringly reminded her of one important saying:
"Don't live to work, work to live."
It was a difficult reading for me because I can feel her loneliness and struggle. You must separate work and your personal life so that your mind, body & soul can be at peace... So that you have a chance at finding love, enriching friendships, & engaging with family to make memories. It was a hard lesson, but one we should all remember when we chase that coin. There's a great big world out there you're missing out on while you work your life away. Her soul mate waits for her while she is consumed by her work hours that spand throughout the day. She cheats herself out of YEARS of happiness with her man. Please recognize the importance of YOU and put you first. You can't take work with you when you pass on to the next life, make this life count!
La Jibarita firmly believes that tarot can help under a lot of circumstances, but tarot is not a “band-aid”. Therefore, please keep in mind that tarot is for entertainment purposes only, and should you need medical, legal, or emotional assistance, please do consult a trusted doctor, lawyer, or licensed therapist. God bless.
